A coincidence point therem for F-contractions on metric spaces equipped with an altered distance

Abstract


A new type of contractive mapping known as an Fw-contraction has been introduced for a metric space equipped with a w-distance recently in 2013. In this paper we extend and generalize the concept of an Fw-contraction to an Fw-g-contraction and prove a coincidence point theorem for an Fw-g-contraction on a metric space equipped with a w-distance. Examples are given in support of usability of our results and to justify that our class of contractions is more generalized.
