Common fixed point results for weak commutative mappings

Abstract

In this paper, we prove common fixed point theorems for weakly commuting mappings satisfying a generalized φ-weak contraction condition that involves distance function of a complete metric space and generalize the results of Murthy and Prasad [5] and Jain et al. [4]. We also provide an example in support of our result.
