On Banach contraction principle and Sehgal fixed point theorem in extended b-metric space

Abstract


In this paper, we show that Banach contraction principle and other known fixed point results, in the frame of extended b-metric space, are immediate consequences of the analogous theorems in b-metric space. We establish a more general and extended version of Banach contraction principle, we also prove a Sehgal-Guseman type theorem for mappings with contractive iterate at each point in extended b-metric space.
