Abstract

Corruption in government procurement remains a persistent global challenge, undermining economic efficiency, transparency, and public trust. Contemporary studies emphasize statistical, machine learning, and network-based detection approaches; however, there is limited exploration of algebraic structures in modelling corruption dynamics. This paper presents a semigroup theoretic matrix model to formalize corruption interactions within procurement systems. Consequently, we give some analysis arising from our matrix representation. This interdisciplinary study offers a novel algebraic perspective to complement existing models of corruption.
